Fairtrade Fortnight 2024
Fairtrade Fortnight 2024 : 9th - 22nd September
Marking 30 years
The Fairtrade Foundation is marking 30 years since Fairtrade products first hit shelves in the UK. Fairtrade Fortnight encourages consumers to Be the Change. Choose Fairtrade to protect the future of British staples produced overseas
FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT 2024 (9th – 22nd September 2024)
The Fairtrade Fortnight will highlight the stark reality that many non-Fairtrade farmers and workers are facing, with households continuing to earn below the poverty line.
Be the Change will emphasise how the cumulative effect of our shopping choices have contributed to change, allowing farmers and agricultural workers overseas to create a better future, but more is urgently needed.
When you choose Fairtrade, you contribute to a fairer, more sustainable future for food production.
When you choose Fairtrade, you help ensure farmers receive a fairer price for what they grow.
When you choose Fairtrade, you help rebalance power in supply chains.
Ludlow Fairtrade Town Group
Our Fairtrade Town Group will be active in showing its support locally during Fairtrade Fortnight and in the weeks ahead:
- Fairtrade Shopping Guide - Launching the new Ludlow Fairtrade Shopping Guide which has been funded by Ludlow Town Council.
- Big Brew Event - There will be a Big Brew Event, following the main morning service in St Laurence's Church on Sunday 8th September with a fairtrade stall. There will be Fairtrade refreshments including lots of tasty home made bakes and cake made with Fairtrade ingredients for donations to the Fairtrade Foundation and Transform Trade.
- Fairtrade Stall on Ludlow Market - Look out for the Fairtrade stall on the Ludlow Local Produce Market 10-2 on Thursday 12th September in Castle Square. We are all one world and Fairtrade farmers and workers and local producers stand together on issues of climate change and fair prices.
The Fairtrade Town Group will be showcasing the new Fair Trade Shopping Guide, campaigning on Climate Change and Trade Justice and selling Fairtrade goods.
