Ludlow Town Council's Commitment to Healthcare and Community Development

Ludlow Town Council is pleased to confirm attendees to its upcoming public meeting, scheduled for February 4th including representatives from Shropshire Council Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Station Drive Surgery, The League of Friends, the Mayor of Bishops Castle (Save Bishops Castle Hospital), and Unitary Councillors. The meeting will focus on the issue of healthcare provision within the community.

In addition to the public meeting, Mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Beverley Waite also addressed Shropshire Council's Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Monday 27th of January.  Councillor Waite asked questions and advocated for the healthcare needs of Ludlow, which is a rural and isolated community with possibly the longest travel to hospital journey time in the country, to be met locally.

Prior to the public meeting, at a recent Full Council Meeting, Ludlow Town Council welcomed local healthcare experts who highlighted the need for community-focused prevention and treatment to ease A&E pressures and improve patient outcomes. They stressed the urgency of investing in local healthcare infrastructure and expanding community care services. The Council is committed to collaborating with stakeholders to address these critical issues and enhance healthcare for residents.

The Council encourages residents to attend the public meeting at 6 pm on February 4th, at Oscars, Ludlow Assembly Rooms where they can voice their concerns, share ideas, and learn more about the actions being taken to address Ludlow's healthcare needs.
