The Council is is an elelcted body, and all councillors are equals, although the Mayor has a casting vote in the event of a tied vote.  During their term of office the Mayor is the official 'first citizen' of the town and attends many civic and community events across the county and further afield in this capacity.

The work of Ludlow Town Council is funded mainly through the precept, which is raised each year from Council Tax payers in the parish of Ludlow.

The budget for the following financial year is set each year by Council at a meeting in January.

This budget sets out the intended income and expenditure for the day to day running of local services, as well as budgets for new and existing projects during the year.

Ludlow Town Council offers a diverse range of local services and amenities including; Ludlow Market, Street Trading, Ludlow Museum at the Buttercross, Green Spaces, Play Areas, Public Toilets, CCTV, Civic Events, Christmas lights, Bus Shelters, Benches, and Community Grants.   These services, among others, underscore Ludlow Town Council's commitment to enhancing the quality of life in our market town
