OOH contract given to a for profit organisation owned by three directors
Information from David Sandbach, Former Chief Executive Princess Royal in Telford expressing concerns over the new preferred provider Medvivo Group Ltd.
These people are the new 'preferred' management of the Out of Hours services for ST&W ICB.
In 2023 their company made a profit from providing services to the NHS & Local Government of £3,393,108.
Their acquisition of the ST&W ICB out of hours service is likely to drive their turnover up significantly and more than replace their drop in turnover between 2022 and 2023.

Personally I am not convinced that the ST&W ICB procurement team has made made the right recommendation to the ST&W Board.
Why withdraw a contract from a partner of 30 years i.e. ShropDoc and replace it with a new partnership with three blokes who have no connection with Shropshire and are doing what they do to make money by running a for profit business when ShropDoc provide a good service to Shropshire on the basis of a NOT FOR PROFIT service.
Whilst Medvivo has been nominated as the preferred provider I have concerns that this act of Parliament has not been properly applied; Social Value & the Procurement Act 2023: 5 things businesses need to know.
Also given the Stirling service provided over the years by ShropDoc one has to wonder if due diligence and proper consideration been applied, and have the following principles of business behaviour been applied

If you think, as I do, that the long term relationship Shropshire citizens have had with ShropDoc over the years is very valuable local social / cultural asset and that the OOH service should be retained by ShropDoc please make your views know to Mr Whitehouse CEO simon.whitehouse@ nhs.net
Please make your opinion known as soon as possible before the final decision is made which will be in the very near future.
Yours sincerely
David Sandbach.
